The Superior Fescue sod is a tall fescue grass and a popular sod option in the greater Los Angeles area for residential and sports turf applications. The Superior Tall Fescue sod has a major benefit with rhizomes that help the Superior Tall Fescue sod heal itself and help save time on watering. Rhizomes are roots that grow both beneath the surface and above the surface, helping keep the Superior Fescue sod maintain its curb appeal and health. Our Superior Fescue sod is only available in the Los Angeles Area. 

Superior Fescue Sod Conditions and Performance

Superior Fescue sod is best for sunny areas or areas with sun and shade. Superior Tall Fescue also has excellent wear and tear resistance, handles moderate drought, and resists insects and diseases.

Superior Fescue Sod Watering Recommendations

Once fescue grass is established, it grows deep roots. Because of this, it’s best to water deeply rather than lightly. How often you water depends on the season and weather. In normal or cooler conditions, watering about twice a week is usually enough. During very hot weather, you may need to water every day.

Water thoroughly each time, then let the lawn dry slightly before watering again. Morning is the best time to water. If parts of the lawn look wilted or turn a bluish-gray color, water them right away and more often.

Superior Fescue Sod Mowing Recommendations

Once established, mowing the Superior Tall Fescue is recommended once a week at a 2"-3" height. IMPORTANT: DO NOT cut off more than one-third of the grass height in a single mowing. Use a rotary mower with a sharp blade for the best results.
